Huntington Hospital System Adds Jobs With Facility Expansion

A major healthcare system based in Huntington is expanding outpatient facility capacity this year, part of an effort to meet growing regional demand for specialty and primary care services across the Tri-State area. The expansion includes new clinical positions as well as administrative and support roles, making the health system one of the region's largest sources of new hiring this year.

"Huntington has become a regional hub for healthcare in a way that goes well beyond the city limits," said a hospital system administrator involved in the expansion. "We're seeing patients from a wider radius than we used to, and staffing has to keep pace."

Workforce Pipeline Remains a Challenge

Even as the system adds positions, administrators acknowledge that filling specialized clinical roles remains difficult, particularly for nursing and certain therapy specialties where regional competition for workers is intense. The health system has expanded partnerships with regional nursing programs and offered relocation incentives for harder-to-fill positions.

Local economic development officials say the expansion reinforces healthcare's role as one of the most consistent sources of job growth in the region, even as other sectors have seen more volatility in recent years.
