Manufacturer Announces Expansion at Mid-Ohio Valley Plant
A Parkersburg-area manufacturer plans to add production lines and dozens of jobs, part of a broader pattern of industrial investment along the Ohio River corridor.
A manufacturer with an existing plant in the Parkersburg area announced plans this week to add production capacity and expand its workforce over the next eighteen months, the latest in a series of industrial investment announcements along the Mid-Ohio Valley. Company officials say the expansion reflects steady demand growth as well as favorable site conditions, including available industrial land and a workforce with relevant manufacturing experience.
"We looked at a few sites for this expansion, and the existing workforce here made a real difference," said a company representative involved in the decision. "You don't have to build a manufacturing culture from scratch when it's already there."
Part of a Broader Pattern
Local economic development officials say the announcement fits a broader pattern of manufacturing investment along the Ohio River corridor over the past several years, as companies weigh site availability, logistics access, and workforce against costs in more crowded industrial markets. Wood County officials say they are tracking several additional prospective projects, though none have reached the announcement stage.
The expansion is expected to add dozens of positions once fully operational, with hiring to begin in phases as new production lines come online. Local workforce development officials say they are coordinating with the company on training partnerships ahead of the hiring push.
